The founder of Jota Machinery
Jota Machinery was founded by Bruce Zhou on March 27, 2024.
Under his leadership, the company has developed into a dual-business platform covering both flexible-packaging machinery and advanced composite-material equipment.
The flexible-packaging division operates as 盛威达机械（昆山）有限公司, specializing in slitting, rewinding, and roll-to-roll converting solutions for the printing and packaging industry.
The composite-machinery division is part of 丘钛新材料科技（苏州）有限公司, established on December 14, 2020. It focuses on continuous-fiber processing technologies used in aerospace, automotive, and lightweight structural applications.
To strengthen operational consistency and product reliability, Jota Machinery has passed the ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification, ensuring that its processes meet internationally recognized standards.
Bruce’s work connects two forward-looking industries—packaging and composites—driving stable development, engineering advancement, and long-term value for clients around the world.

About Bruce Zhou
My journey with composite materials began in 2011, when I transitioned from traditional paper soft-packaging slitting into the high-performance composite industry by partnering with Shanghai Jessjie Composites. That same year marked my entry into the highly specialized field of UD (unidirectional) tape slitting.
Over the following years, I continued expanding my expertise through collaborations with leading companies such as Zhejiang Shuangyu (2012), Zhejiang Suijin, and CGN Juner Composites (2013).
Driven by the ambition to upgrade our capabilities, I relocated the entire company to Kunshan in 2015, the heart of China’s advanced manufacturing region, and established a dedicated R&D center focusing on next-generation UD tape equipment.
Between 2016 and 2025, I led the development of numerous industry-first technologies, and worked closely with many of the most important composite manufacturers in China and globally:
Key Milestones & Innovations
- 2016–2017: Strategic partnerships with Markson Hangzhou and Qingdao CIMC , developing multiple customized machines and becoming one of their core suppliers.
- 2018: Successfully developed China’s first 1500mm large-diameter slitting line, used by Shanghai Feizhou Boyuan Pipeline to support RTP oil pipeline reinforcement.
- 2019: Cooperation with Cangzhou Mingzhu and Hebei Yutong Pipeline, expanding applications in pressure pipe reinforcement.
- 2020: Developed our first thermoplastic prepreg line and the first thermoset carbon fiber slitting & winding system.
- 2021: Delivered complete prepreg and slitting systems to Jiangsu Yisu; supported Shandong Nonmetallic Materials Institute in launching China’s first thermoplastic carbon fiber slitting line.
- 2022: Launched the double belt press machine, developed specifically for automotive battery housing sandwich panels for Qingdao CIMC.
Cooperated with AVIC Haiying (Suzhou) to deliver a 16-axis thermoset prepreg slitting & spooling machine for domestic large-aircraft AFP projects. - 2023: Our thermoset prepreg line entered the international market for the first time, exported to South Asia.
Our thermoplastic slitting line was successfully installed at Gurit, a global leader in the wind blade industry. - 2024: Successfully partnered with a major China Aerospace Institute, delivering both thermoset prepreg and high-precision slitting lines.
Achieved stable mass-production of 1/8″ (3.175 mm) ultra-narrow-width slitting technology. - 2025: High-temperature carbon fiber prepreg lines and belt-type composite systems were adopted by top Chinese enterprises such as Shanghai Pret, Nanjing Fiberglass Institute, CNPC, and exported to India and Austria.
