Larte Design Gives BMW XM an Olive Green Carbon Fiber Overhaul

The BMW XM is already one of the more visually assertive SUVs in BMW’s lineup. Larte Design has taken that character further with a body kit that combines an olive green exterior with matching green-tinted carbon fiber components.

The modified XM follows a similar treatment recently applied by Larte Design to a Cadillac Escalade. Rather than using conventional exposed black carbon fiber as a contrasting material, the tuner has integrated the carbon components into the vehicle’s overall color scheme.

The result is a BMW XM featuring green carbon fiber across the front, sides and rear.

Green Carbon Fiber Extends Across the Front End

At the front, Larte Design has fitted the XM with several new carbon fiber components, including a front splitter, air intake surrounds and additional trim around BMW’s large kidney grilles.

One of the most noticeable changes is the hood.

The standard component has been replaced by a green-tinted carbon fiber hood incorporating louvers on both sides. The carbon weave remains visible beneath the colored finish, allowing the material itself to become part of the vehicle’s exterior design.

Rather than using carbon fiber primarily for weight reduction, the modifications appear focused on styling and differentiation. No specific weight savings for the package have been disclosed.

Carbon Fiber Continues Along the Body

Larte Design has extended the same material treatment along the sides of the XM.

The package includes green carbon fiber rocker panels, fender flares and mirror caps. The SUV also receives color-matched wheels incorporating additional green carbon accents.

Using tinted carbon fiber allows the components to retain the recognizable woven appearance of the reinforcement while creating a closer visual match with the surrounding painted bodywork.

It is a different approach from the conventional combination of painted body panels and clear-coated black carbon fiber commonly seen on performance vehicles.

New Wing and Diffuser Reshape the Rear

The rear receives an equally extensive redesign.

A green carbon fiber wing has been mounted above the rear window, while a smaller lip spoiler sits beneath the glass.

Further down, Larte Design has developed a new rear diffuser finished in the same green carbon treatment. Even the exhaust outlets have been given matching carbon fiber surrounds, extending the material theme across virtually every exterior section of the vehicle.

Together, the components give the XM a substantially more aggressive appearance without changing the underlying vehicle architecture.

Carbon Fiber Becomes a Styling Material

The project highlights another side of carbon fiber use in the automotive sector.

For structural applications, carbon fiber-reinforced polymer is typically selected because its high specific stiffness and strength can help engineers reduce component mass. In aftermarket vehicles, however, exposed carbon fiber can also function as a premium visual material.

Tinted carbon takes that concept further by combining the recognizable weave pattern with customized colors.

Larte Design offers its BMW XM body components in other finishes as well, including more conventional exposed carbon fiber and versions painted to coordinate with the vehicle’s exterior.

For this particular XM, the olive green treatment makes the composite material one of the dominant elements of the vehicle’s design rather than simply an accent.
