Nova Carbon has announced a partnership with CMP Composites to collect and recycle carbon fiber production offcuts, supporting circular manufacturing and creating new applications for recycled composite materials.
The agreement marks an important commercial milestone for Nova Carbon as it expands industrial deployment of its textile-based carbon fiber recycling technology.
Partnership Targets Circular Composite Manufacturing
Under the collaboration, CMP Composites will supply recurring production scrap generated during composite manufacturing to Nova Carbon for recycling.

The partnership has already produced its first commercial application through the manufacture of small offshore wind turbine blades incorporating Nova Carbon’s recycled and realigned long carbon fibers (rCF).
According to Nova Carbon, this represents a fully industrialized project rather than a laboratory demonstration or prototype, although the end customer has not been disclosed.
The application demonstrates how recycled carbon fibers can be used in renewable energy components while maintaining performance requirements.
Textile-Based Recycling Preserves Fiber Performance
Nova Carbon says its recycling process differs from conventional mechanical recycling methods that often shorten carbon fibers and reduce mechanical properties.
Instead, its textile-based process:
