Dutch thermoplastic composite pipe manufacturer Strohm has secured its first contract in Egypt, supplying a 2,000-meter thermoplastic composite pipe flowline for a West Delta Deep Marine project offshore Egypt.
The project is operated by Burullus Gas Co., a joint venture between EGAS, Shell and Petronas.
Carbon fiber-reinforced PA12 TCP
The flowline will use carbon fiber-reinforced PA12 thermoplastic composite pipe with a design pressure of:
- 5,000 psi
It is qualified to:
- DNV-ST-F119
The pipe will replace an existing steel flowline at water depths of nearly:
- 600 meters
Installation by Oceaneering
Installation will be carried out by Oceaneering International using a horizontal lay method.
This installation approach is important because it enables the use of a multi-purpose vessel instead of requiring specialized pipe-lay vessels.
