Massivit has launched RapidWings, a turnkey composite manufacturing platform designed to help aerospace and defense manufacturers dramatically reduce tooling lead times and production costs through its proprietary Cast-In-Motion (CIM) technology.
The new platform, already operational in Israel and now expanding globally, aims to address growing manufacturing bottlenecks as defense OEMs face increasing production demand and supply chain constraints.
Composite Tooling Lead Times Reduced from Months to Days
RapidWings is built around Massivit’s CIM digital tooling technology, which enables manufacturers to produce composite tooling in days rather than months.
According to the company, the platform can:
- Reduce tooling lead times from approximately three months to several days
- Lower tooling costs by 40–70% compared with conventional metal and machinable-board tooling
- Accelerate prototype development and production ramp-up
- Eliminate the need for significant new capital investment
The platform is intended to support composite manufacturing for defense, aerospace and aerostructure applications where production speed has become increasingly critical.
Global Manufacturing Network Targets Defense Supply Chains
Rather than building centralized production facilities, Massivit is establishing RapidWings as a distributed manufacturing network through Joint Manufacturing Alliances (JMAs).
Under this model, certified Tier 2 composite manufacturers integrate Massivit’s CIM tooling technology into their existing operations, enabling faster production while maintaining their own customer relationships and manufacturing capabilities.
The first operational alliance, formed between Massivit and Comparts Ltd. in Israel, is already supporting multiple defense programs for leading OEMs.
Massivit is now inviting qualified composite manufacturers across the United States and Europe to join the expanding network.
Responding to Rising Defense Production Demand
Growing global defense spending has increased pressure on manufacturers to deliver aircraft, missiles, unmanned systems and defense platforms more rapidly.
According to Massivit, manufacturers in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia and India have increasingly sought faster tooling solutions as conventional supply chains struggle with outsourcing delays and capacity limitations.
