Advanced Production Techniques for Self-Adhesive Label Sticker Manufacturing

Slitting is a crucial step in the production of self-adhesive label stickers, as it determines the final size and shape of the labels.

First step is jumbo roll prepare:

The jumbo roll is typically supplied in a large size, such as 1000mm or 1200mm in width, and may be up to several thousand meters in length.

As the jumbo roll is fed through the slitting machine, the rotary knives cut the roll into the desired size and shape.

The number of cuts can vary depending on the desired label size and the width of the jumbo roll.

Second step is slitting prepare.

Let us take manufacturing 57mm width small roll for example:

If you need to slit the 1300mm jumbo roll into 57mm small rolls, you need to adjust the lower slitting width into 57mm and install 22 pcs slitting blade.

The lower slitting blade consists of a slitting blade and a spacer, which are used together to achieve various widths such as 57mm, 79mm, 100mm, etc.

To set the lower slitting blade adjust the lower slitting blade spacer to the desired width by adding or remove the sum of spacers.

Once the lower slitting blade is set to the desired width, adjust the upper slitting blade to the same width as the lower blade.

  1. Adjust the slitting width to the same width as the lower slitting blade:

You need to adjust the slitting width of the upper slitting blade to match the width of the lower slitting blade. This is important to ensure that the labels are cut to the correct size.

  1. Insert the upper blade to the gap of lower slitting blade:

Once the slitting width has been adjusted, insert the upper slitting blade into the gap between the lower slitting blade and the spacer.The depth of the blade should be around 2mm or so.

  1. Tighten the screw:

Once the upper slitting blade is in place, tighten the screw that holds it in place. This will secure the blade and prevent it from moving during the slitting process.

It is important to ensure that both the upper and lower slitting blades are set to the same width, as this ensures that the label rolls are cut accurately and consistently.

By following these steps, you can set up the slitting width for a slitting machine and achieve the desired label roll width.

Once the blades are set to the correct width, input the length of the small rolls on the human-machine interface (HMI) of the slitting machine.

The HMI allows you to set the length of each small roll accurately. This is an important step because it ensures that each roll is of the same length, reducing waste and improving efficiency.

Finally, run the machine and wait until it reaches the pre-set length.

When the machine reaches the pre-set length, it will automatically stop, and the operator can remove the small rolls of self-adhesive label sticker.

The die cutting machine typically uses a metal die that is shaped like the desired label shape. The label material is fed through the die cutting machine, where the die presses against the label material and cuts it into the desired shape.
