Advanced Production Techniques for Self-Adhesive Label Sticker Manufacturing
A self-adhesive label sticker is a small piece of paper or plastic material with an adhesive backing that allows it to stick to a variety of surfaces without the need for any additional glue or tape.
These labels can come in various shapes, sizes, colors, and designs, and are commonly used for labeling products, organizing items, and adding information to various surfaces.
Today Jota Machinery will introduce the whole production line for manufacturing self adhesive label sticker .
Self adhesive label sticker slitting machine
Slitting is a crucial step in the production of self-adhesive label stickers, as it determines the final size and shape of the labels.
First step is jumbo roll prepare:
The jumbo roll is typically supplied in a large size, such as 1000mm or 1200mm in width, and may be up to several thousand meters in length.
As the jumbo roll is fed through the slitting machine, the rotary knives cut the roll into the desired size and shape.
The number of cuts can vary depending on the desired label size and the width of the jumbo roll.
Second step is slitting prepare.
Let us take manufacturing 57mm width small roll for example:
If you need to slit the 1300mm jumbo roll into 57mm small rolls, you need to adjust the lower slitting width into 57mm and install 22 pcs slitting blade.
The lower slitting blade consists of a slitting blade and a spacer, which are used together to achieve various widths such as 57mm, 79mm, 100mm, etc.
To set the lower slitting blade adjust the lower slitting blade spacer to the desired width by adding or remove the sum of spacers.
Once the lower slitting blade is set to the desired width, adjust the upper slitting blade to the same width as the lower blade.
- Adjust the slitting width to the same width as the lower slitting blade:
You need to adjust the slitting width of the upper slitting blade to match the width of the lower slitting blade. This is important to ensure that the labels are cut to the correct size.
- Insert the upper blade to the gap of lower slitting blade:
Once the slitting width has been adjusted, insert the upper slitting blade into the gap between the lower slitting blade and the spacer. The depth of the blade should be around 2mm or so.
- Tighten the screw:
Once the upper slitting blade is in place, tighten the screw that holds it in place. This will secure the blade and prevent it from moving during the slitting process.
It is important to ensure that both the upper and lower slitting blades are set to the same width, as this ensures that the label rolls are cut accurately and consistently.
By following these steps, you can set up the slitting width for a slitting machine and achieve the desired label roll width.
Once the blades are set to the correct width, input the length of the small rolls on the human-machine interface (HMI) of the slitting machine.
The HMI allows you to set the length of each small roll accurately. This is an important step because it ensures that each roll is of the same length, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
Finally, run the machine and wait until it reaches the pre-set length.
When the machine reaches the pre-set length, it will automatically stop, and the operator can remove the small rolls of self-adhesive label sticker.
Die cutting method of label sticker.
The die cutting machine typically uses a metal die that is shaped like the desired label shape. The label material is fed through the die cutting machine, where the die presses against the label material and cuts it into the desired shape.
Die cutting have Flatbed die cutting and Rotary die cutting two types.
- Flatbed die cutting
- Rotary die cutting
Flatbed die cutting:
Flatbed die cutting is a popular method for cutting and shaping adhesive label stickers.
In this process, a flatbed die cutting machine is used to create custom dies that are used to cut out shapes and designs from the adhesive label material. The machine consists of a flat surface and a cutting tool that is used to press the material against the die, cutting it into the desired shape.
Flatbed die cutting is a versatile process that can be used for a wide range of label designs, from simple shapes to complex designs with intricate details.
The dies used in the process can be customized to meet the specific needs of the label design, and can be used to cut out shapes, letters, and other design elements.
One of the advantages of flatbed die cutting is that it can be used with a variety of different adhesive label materials, including paper, vinyl, and polyester. This makes it an ideal process for creating labels for a wide range of applications, from product labels to warning labels and more.
Flatbed die cutting is also a relatively fast process, making it an efficient choice for large-scale label production. The dies can be quickly changed out to create different label designs, allowing for fast and efficient label production.
Rotary die cutting:
Rotary die cutting is a high-speed process used to cut, shape, and score self-adhesive label materials in a continuous roll-to-roll fashion.
The process utilizes a cylindrical die that rotates at high speeds to cut precise shapes, patterns, and perforations into the label material.
The cutting process is accomplished using multiple blades or cutting dies positioned around the circumference of the cylinder.
The label material is fed into the rotary die cutting machine from a jumbo roll and is guided through the die cutting process using a series of rollers.
As the material passes through the machine, the rotary die cuts the desired shape, removes excess material, and produces individual labels or a continuous roll of labels.
Conclusion:
This article gives you an advanced production techniques for self-adhesive label sticker manufacturing.

Plastic Film Slitter Rewinder Machine is a machine that is designed to slit and rewind plastic film rolls into a specified width.
The plastic Film Slitter Rewinder Machine is used to slit and rewind plastic film roll into a specified width so that the roll can be used for other purposes.
There are several different types, including single-shaft, dual-shaft, and center slitting.
They each have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Jota Machinery’s plastic film slitter rewinder machines use the single-shaft model for a combination of reliability, simplicity, and cost-effectiveness. For more information on the different types, visit our page.
The process is actually relatively simple.
The machine feeds your material into a rubberized drum that rotates at an adjustable speed.
When the material reaches the end of the drum and exits it, you have your finished product—in this case, a roll of plastic film. machines also offer automatic tension control to ensure precision in your product’s size and accuracy in its weight.
The cost of a Plastic Film Slitter Rewinder Machine depends on what kind you need for your project or use case scenario.
A small size model may cost around $10000.00 while larger models could go up in price exponentially due to features included such as automatic tension.
