It is commonly used for wrapping hot dogs, sandwiches, hamburgers, and other food items.

To cater to the growing demand for bleached kraft paper, the need for efficient and precise paper converting equipment has become more important than ever.

food packaging

At Jota Machinery, we have received an inquiry from one of our clients in Argentina for a slitter rewinder machine to cut bleached kraft paper.

We have designed and manufactured a slitter rewinder machine that is capable of handling bleached kraft paper with precision and efficiency.

bleached kraft paper slitter rewinder machine

The slitter rewinder machine we have provided to our client consists of separate units for unwinding and slitting.

The slitter unit has a round-shaped slitting blade that can cut bleached kraft paper in various widths ranging from 1130mm to 1530mm.

The jumbo roll of bleached kraft paper is loaded on a 3-inch air expanding shaft, which ensures that the roll is held securely in place during the cutting process.

Our machine uses a magnetic powder brake with a 20kg capacity for controlling the tension of the paper during the slitting process.

The electric and pneumatic system of the machine is equipped with components from top brands such as Schneider, Siemens, and Taiwan AirTac cylinder.

This ensures that the machine operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality results every time.

One of the challenges in cutting bleached kraft paper is its slippery surface.

To address this issue, we have incorporated a unique feature in our slitter rewinder machine.

We paste the tail of the paper roll with double-sided tape instead of using water-based glue or solid glue.

This ensures that the paper roll is held securely in place, allowing for precise and efficient cutting without any slippage.

Apart from food packaging, bleached kraft paper is also used in the production of paper straws.

Our surface  slitter rewinder machine is capable of slitting bleached kraft paper into bobbins for winding paper straws.

In conclusion, our slitter rewinder machine for cutting bleached kraft paper is designed and manufactured to cater to the specific needs of the food packaging industry.

With its precise cutting capabilities and efficient operation, our machine delivers high-quality results consistently.

The use of top-quality components and the incorporation of unique features make our machine stand out from the rest.

We are committed to providing our clients with the best possible solutions for their cutting needs, and our slitter rewinder machine for bleached kraft paper is a testament to that commitment.

What is bleached kraft paper?

Bleached kraft paper is a versatile and reliable paper used in a variety of applications where strength, printability, and appearance are crucial.

This strong white paper is commonly used for manufacturing paper bags, such as flour and sugar bags, as well as labels and envelopes.

Kraft paper bags are in high demand due to their exceptional strength and durability, making them ideal for carrying heavy items such as groceries up to 12 kg.

The paper may be bleached or unbleached depending on the specific use, with a grammage range of 40-110g/㎡ for different weight requirements.

What is the difference between white and brown kraft paper?

Kraft paper is a popular choice for packaging materials due to its strength, durability, and eco-friendliness.

However, when it comes to selecting the right kraft paper for your packaging needs, there are two main options: bleached and unbleached.

The main difference between bleached and unbleached kraft paper lies in their appearance.

Unbleached kraft paper retains its natural brown color and is entirely compostable, making it an excellent choice for environmentally-conscious businesses.

However, unbleached kraft paper has limited resistance to oil and moisture, requiring additional coatings to make it impermeable to these substances.

On the other hand, bleached kraft paper undergoes a delignification bleaching process that removes color tints and impurities, resulting in a uniform white color that is perfect for full-color printing.

Despite the misconception that the bleaching process is harmful to the environment, modern paper manufacturers use eco-friendly methods such as oxygen, ozone, or hydrogen peroxide to bleach the paper, minimizing the production of toxic compounds.

Whether you opt for bleached or unbleached kraft paper, both require a lining or coating to be fully resistant to water and oil.

Ultimately, the choice between the two types of kraft paper depends on your packaging needs and environmental concerns.

What is MG bleached kraft paper?

MG bleached kraft paper is a popular choice in the paper industry for its strength, printability, and appearance.

It is commonly used for products where these characteristics are important, such as flour and sugar bags, labels, and envelopes.

The main difference between bleached and unbleached Kraft paper is its appearance.

Unbleached Kraft paper retains its natural brown color, while bleached Kraft paper is white and uniform.

To produce uniform white paper suitable for full-color printing, manufacturers reduce the color tint and purity of paper pulp through a process known as delignification bleaching.

This process uses oxides such as chlorine and ozone, or bleaching agents like chlorine dioxide and hydrogen peroxide to achieve the desired color and purity.

There is a common misconception that bleaching kraft paper makes it less sustainable and may have negative effects on the environment.

However, bleached kraft paper can also be compostable, depending on the chemicals used in the process.

Modern paper manufacturers now use oxygen, ozone, or hydrogen peroxide to bleach the paper.

This produces fewer toxic and carcinogenic compounds that could damage the environment.

Bleached kraft paper is also a strong and durable material, making it ideal for use in paper bags.

In fact, paper bags are commonly made from kraft paper due to the need for high strength. Lightweight bags can range from 40-60 g/m², while heavier weight bags, such as grocery bags that need to carry up to 12 kg, can range from 80-110 g/m².

Another benefit of bleached kraft paper is that it can be customized to meet specific needs.

The slitter rewinder machine is commonly used for converting bleached kraft paper, and can be customized according to individual requirements.

The main slitter and unwinding stand can be separated, providing greater flexibility in production.

What is unbleached kraft paper?

Kraft paper comes in two main types: natural or unbleached kraft paper and bleached kraft paper.

Natural kraft paper is light brown in color and is known for its exceptional strength, making it ideal for use in various packaging applications, such as industrial bags, grocery bags, and multiwall sacks.

On the other hand, bleached kraft paper is white in color and is commonly used in applications where a uniform appearance is desired, such as in full-color printing.

In addition, kraft paper can be reinforced with fiberglass to produce water-activated tape for packaging and shipping.

How is kraft paper made?

Kraft paper, a widely used packaging material, is produced by converting wood into wood pulp through a chemical process known as the kraft process.

During the process, softwood chips are treated with a mixture of strong alkaline chemicals, intense pressure, and heat, separating the cellulose from lignin.

This process is akin to cooking instant noodles – where noodles are tightly compact when removed from the package and become soft and separated when hot water is added.

After separating the useful components from the wood chips, the pulp is washed and screened, and the resulting large rolls of kraft paper are created.

The paper is then rolled and dried, ready to be cut into various products, including the iconic brown paper bags.

The strong cellulose fibers make kraft paper ideal for packaging products that require maximum strength, such as industrial bags, grocery bags, inner plies of multiwall sacks, and plain wrapping paper.
